This home was renovated in two phases, built around one family's real life: move fast, then grow up.

Phase one turned an underused walkout basement into a full ADU — bedrooms, living room, bathroom, and a new kitchen addition — so the family could move in while the rest of the project continued. Because the rear of the home opens straight to grade, it never feels like a basement. It feels like home, with a direct line to the backyard.

The kitchen was built for light — walls of windows, sightlines to the deck, a clear view of the kids playing outside. Ceiling heights do the rest of the work: intimate in the bedrooms and living room, then soaring in the kitchen, so the whole space feels like it opens up right where it should.

Custom built-ins add warmth in the living room. Ocean-toned finishes and built-in niches keep the bathroom calm and clutter-free. And to get the family in sooner, the kitchen addition started life with a temporary roof — built to function now, and to build on later.

Phase two delivered on that promise: two new stories rose above the kitchen, adding bedrooms for the kids and a flexible bonus room for whatever comes next.

The result is more than just more square footage — it's a home that adapts as fast as the family living in it does.
