West Bridgewater
KR Architecture and Design has partnered with the West Bridgewater Housing Authority on several projects focused on improving safety, durability, and everyday comfort throughout its facilities. One major flooring-renovation project included asbestos removal and replacement of flooring finishes in all residential units and the community room, along with replacement stair treads. We worked closely with the Authority to select colors and finishes that would create a cohesive, welcoming appearance while standing up to the demands of a high-use housing environment.
We have also prepared drawings for a facility-wide exit-door hardware replacement project. In collaboration with hardware consultants and the Housing Authority, our team worked through unique installation challenges, including limited wall space above certain doors for standard door-closer housings. Together, the project team developed a practical solution that meets the building’s needs and allows the work to move forward. The hardware-upgrade project is expected to enter construction soon, further supporting safe, reliable access and egress throughout the facilities.
