What began as a straightforward roof-replacement project in Sharon became a more complex building-envelope repair once demolition revealed unexpected existing conditions. The previous roofing system had been installed over exterior insulation, with shingles attached in a way that did not follow typical roof-construction practices and required further evaluation before replacement work could proceed.

KR Architecture and Design worked closely with the general contractor and Housing Authority to develop a practical solution that addressed the existing condition and supported a durable new roof assembly. By adapting the design during construction and coordinating the revised approach with the project team, the work is helping ensure the building will be properly protected from the elements for years to come.
