A failing signage wall turned out to be the symptom of a bigger problem. What started as visible deterioration and water damage became a full exterior-repair project — and a fix built to last.

Working with the client, KR Architecture and Interiors traced the issue back to its source: a gutter behind the signage wall with insufficient slope, holding standing water that combined with existing leaks to slowly infiltrate the wall and soffit assembly.

We fixed the cause first — regrading the gutter for proper drainage and adding scuppers to move water away efficiently. Then we rebuilt the damaged signage wall itself, swapping the old wood-based assembly for weather-resistant metal framing and a more durable finish.

The result: drainage problem solved, and a cleaner, more cohesive look across the buildings. The updated signage walls give the property a fresh visual identity — and an exterior built to handle New England weather for years to come.
